Just 12 minutes from the Inn, Mary’s Point is located within the Shepody Bay Wildlife Area. It is an excellent place to hike along the beach year-round and to birdwatch. From mid-July to the end of August, Mary's Point hosts tens of thousands of Semipalmated Sandpipers as they congregate to feed on the tiny shrimps in the mud flats in preparation for their long flights to northern South America. These small, arctic-nesting shorebirds nearly triple their size during their stay and are a joy to watch!
