Crooked Creek Trails

Two trails which are hidden gems located in Riverside-Albert. The Lookout trail leads you to spectacular views of the Shepody River and Caledonia Gorge. The other trail will lead you to a refreshing swimming hole at the bottom of Crooked Creek Falls.

Mary’s Point

Just 12 minutes from the Inn, Mary’s Point is located within the Shepody Bay Wildlife Area. It is an excellent place to hike along the beach year-round and to birdwatch. From mid-July to the end of August, Mary's Point hosts tens of thousands of Semipalmated Sandpipers as they congregate to feed on the tiny shrimps in the mud flats in preparation for their long flights to northern South America. These small, arctic-nesting shorebirds nearly triple their size during their stay and are a joy to watch!

Shepody Trail

Just a short walk from the Maplegrove Inn, this trail spans close to 12 kilometres along the Shepody Marsh. It is an excellent location for both walking and biking and has recently been redesignated as a greenway portion of the Trans Canada Trail.
