Our Story
Welcome to the Maplegrove Inn, Built 1854.
Hi, we’re Kate & Mel, and we’re delighted to introduce ourselves. We look forward to welcoming you to our home and showing you how special the Maplegrove Inn truly is.
As “Come from Awayers”, we are new to both New Brunswick and Canada itself, but now it is home sweet home. Mel grew up in South Africa, while Kate is a lifelong Hoosier from Indiana. Mel had never been to Canada before we moved here, whereas Kate had enjoyed several memorable trips to Alberta and Ontario while hiking and canoeing.
Our family made the journey to New Brunswick in August 2021 including our 3 adult children and 3 dogs. We have only begun to explore the many treasures within Albert County and its surrounding areas, such as The Hopewell Rocks, Fundy National Park, Cape Enrage and Mary’s Point. We look forward to sharing new adventures with you.
After deciding we wanted to explore a different pace of life, we said goodbye to our previous careers and moved to the Maplegrove Inn so we could explore our passions in cooking, gardening, and hospitality. We are thrilled to be part of Albert County and to live in such an astounding location.
We hope to see you soon!
The Maplegrove Inn is a truly special place, and we feel honoured to be able to share it with you. The feedback we get is just incredible, and we can’t wait for you to experience the Maplegrove at its finest.
“I’ve never experienced anything quite like this inn. The service is impeccable. The atmosphere is like none other. I felt like I was on the set of Gilmore Girls. Our room was spotless and stunning. Breakfast was delicious with generous portions! I would come back in a heartbeat.
Thank you Mel and Kate for making us feel at home!”
